I think the Goddesses spared me when they gave us plant medicines

Aside from the illnesses I experienced which tend to be more… chronic.. I NEVER get sick.

I mean like, colds, flus that type of thing.

And maybe NEVER is an exaggeration. But comparatively to friends who always seem to have the sniffles.

Basically never.

I think the Goddesses tend to spare me from the minor stuff because the major stuff has always chose to be so… major.

Cue end of Summer.

It somehow started and came early. Couldn’t really expect it to last in London, could we?

The rain and the grey is as inevitable as that letter from the taxman in April.

So, in my witchy wisdom, decided that it’s probably that time of year again to pull out some teas.

To let the air in my lungs flow I invoked the power of Mullein.

To bring cooling and moistening to my sore throat, Chamomile

To bring iron and richness to my blood, Nettle.

About a dried teaspoon of each, steeped in near-boiling water for 15 minutes.

To dilate the veins to let this all flow through, a pinch of dried ginger.

A little honey or a dark brown sugar helps the plant medicine go down.

I’m not out of the woods yet, but my chest and airway already feels much lighter.

Give thanks to the Ancestors of old for finding the herbs to soothe the soul… and the sore throat.
